382. The Conversations I’m Having With My Kids About Money, Work, and Dreams

How can you teach your kids that they need to put in the work to get what they want?

Some of the things we talk about with our kids may not be conventional, and at times we have faced judgement for the decisions we’ve made. When it comes to parenting, no matter what you choose, it can feel like there’s no way to get it “right.”

What I want for my kids is to be healthy, happy, and kind human beings. I want them to look for opportunities to be of service to others and create ripple effects of positivity everywhere they go.

In this episode, you will learn about:

  • Why it’s okay to not agree with my decisions in parenting (and still respect them).

  • The difference between being broke and being cheap, and how this relates to mindset.

  • Why saying “I can’t afford it” isn’t productive (and what we’re teaching our kids instead).

  • Why we encourage problem solving and identifying opportunities early on.

  • How we choose to educate our children, and the problems with traditional school.

  • Why it’s important to allow your kids to fail, and even celebrate those failures.

  • Why teaching delayed gratification to kids is more important now than ever before.

  • How acknowledging our privilege teaches our kids responsibility and impact.
